Elliot Alderson, portrayed by Rami Malek. Elliot, a cybersecurity
engineer suffering from social anxiety, clinical depression, and
dissociative identity disorder, is recruited by an anarchist named
"Mr. Robot" (Christian Slater) to join a hacktivist group called "fsociety."
Their goal is to destroy debt records by encrypting E Corp's financial data,
the largest conglomerate globally.
The show premiered its pilot on May 27, 2015, and aired four seasons, concluding on December 22, 2019. It features a
supporting cast including Carly Chaikin, Portia Doubleday, and Martin Wallström, and received high praise for acting,
storytelling, visual style, and Mac Quayle's score. Esmail directed the series with acclaim, earning multiple awards,
including two Golden Globes and three Primetime Emmys. The production, primarily based in New York City, was characterized
by a single-camera setup and consisted of 45 episodes in total. The show's themes encompass drama, psychological and crime
thrillers, garnering a dedicated following during its run.
